Job Summary
Responsible for distribution and storage of materials delivered to the Materials Management Department. Responsible for maintaining the PAR Levels throughout the Facility.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas
- Delivers supplies and equipment to the user departments in an efficient and timely manner.
- Receives and fills all supply requisitions, from departments, that are not replenished by the PAR System.
- Interfaces directly with staff members of the user departments to determine the need for additions or deletions to the PAR Level Replenishment System for their department.
- Ensures item master is up-to-date.
- Maintains logging, filing, and source documents.
- Perform cycle counts
- Obtains products, equipment, and services from suppliers.
- Place orders
- Receives orders and maintains paper work.
- Scan paperwork
- Reconcile as needed
- Monitors open orders and identify backorders while communicating with departments.
- Coordinates returns.
- Assists in monthly reports
- Maintains all areas of materials stored in a neat and organized manner. All supplies are taken out of the original shipping box for storage.
- Restocks utilizing proper rotation, organization, identification, documentation and proper location of stock items.
- Properly handles and stores sterile items to maintain sterility.
- Maintains all equipment utilized in transporting supplies in a manner that ensures reliable and safe operation.
- Notifies the Material Manager when supplies or special orders are needed.
- Submits reports and suggested corrections to the Materials Management Director.
- Corrects transaction errors after researching the error to find its source.
- Completes duties in a time-efficient manner.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the overall functions of the Materials Management Department.
- Requires minimal supervision in the performance of job duties
- Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.
- Is a self-starter; initiates the meeting of responsibilities without prompting.
- Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
- Communicates clearly and appropriately to the Materials Manager and co-workers.
- Accepts other duties as requested that are not within the job description.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; accepts adjustments when necessary.
- Demonstrates the values of team concept on a consistent basis.
- Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.

- Completes annual educational requirements.

- Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.
- Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion.
- Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
- Attends a minimum of 6 staff meetings annually; reads and returns all monthly staff meeting minutes.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.
Regulatory Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
Language Skills
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
Skills
- Basic computer knowledge.
